A Visit to the Candy Shoppe

Gilli Lollipop does put me in the mood for paying a visit to the candy shoppe.  I'm thinking about those penny candy stores with the colorful dots, rock candy and pixie sticks ~ pure sugar!  :)
There's a challenge going on over at House of Gilli and it's to make a card using your die cuts and punches.  I've used a Martha Stewart punch and some of my circle die cuts for this challenge.  I've colored Gilli with Copics and sprinkled much Diamond Dust on my card.  :-)
Wouldn't you love a chance to win a Gilli goodie?!  Hop on over to House of Gilli to check it out.  There's always a fun challenge going on there.  Thanks for stopping by.  :)

Sweet Shopper Gilli

Today I have a card made with my Shopper Gilli stamp.  I paper pieced Gilli's shirt and shopping bag and added shading with Copics.  The rest of the image I also colored with Copics.  I used a white gel pen to doodle on the paper, Uni-Ball Signo Broad and they are so much better than any other white pen I've tried in the past.
I made Gilli for the challenge over at Through the Craftroom Door Challenge Blog.  You must use ribbon on your card and we also have a photo inspiration:

A couple of my favorite designers are the sponsors for our challenge:  anaRy of Gilli Stamps and Michelle Perkett digi designs.   So hurry on over to TTCRD and enter your card for a chance to win.  :)

Also check out the magazine Through the Craftroom Door;  first issue by Colleen Holmes and it's now ready for your perusal.  Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.  :)

Lucky Rabbit

Here's a whimsical card I made recently using a Pixie Dust digi image;  I colored *White Rabbit* with Copics.
....added a little gloss to his shoes and nose with Glossy Accents.  He's a cute little fella, isn't he?!
I want to mention some exciting news about an online magazine Through the Craftroom Door which was recently acquired by a friend of mine Colleen Holmes, who is also the founder of The Outlawz site.  So that you can read some background information regarding the magazine, I'm going to cut and paste what Colleen has to say about TTCRD:

Challenge 32 ~ House of Gilli

I've been thinking about how I need to get out and pull some weeds and trim the shrubs.  Haven't done that yet but it did make me think of my Gilli Duty stamp because she's wearing good comfortable clothes for this sort of work.  So I inked it up and colored it for our challenge over at House of Gilli.
Of course Gilli has to have a little bit of glamour so she's wearing Swarovsky crystal flatback earrings.  The current challenge at House of Gilli is embossing, as much or as little and any type you choose.  After much consideration, I settled on embossing the sentiment.
I've colored the image with Copics but Gilli always looks fabulous with paper piecing or any other coloring medium.  Come and join our challenge and you could be the winner of a Gilli Goodie.  Hope to see you over at House of Gilli.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

DigiDarla is the brain child of Kim Eskola and her daughter Emilea.
Emilea and I both enjoy creating and when the idea of creating digital stamps came up, it sounded like the most wonderful way to earn ever! There was only one problem! We are both shy and dislike the center of attention! As a way of "hiding behind the scenes" and avoiding having one spokeswoman, DigiDarla was born!
Working with Emilea on this project has been a wonderful blessing and has stretched both of us. Emilea is a busy teen with her passion for art and training our 2 horses, piano and violin lessons, and squeezing in high school classes somewhere in between! She is also the oldest daughter in a family of 11!
Winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to her store
Winner will receive a $10 voucher to her store
I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!
